Description

African Blue On the previous posting someone (I think it was Inga) commented on the blueness of the water; which I must admit was enhanced by a digital filter process. In my water photography - aside from the camera / filters (not pool filters!) I have noted a number of features that affect the color... things like i) Overshadowing by objects / clouds ii) Depth of water ii) Hardness or softness of water composition iii) Sunlight / time of day. iv) Color of pool bottom v) Depth of water vi) Water's content - murkiness vii) Skytone viii)Other reflections & shadows ix) Angle / focus of camera x) Motion of water.... This picture (number 4) is enhanced by blue filter as well and the water is only knee deep.... surprising.

me thinks that enhancing in this case cause a really nice effect for eyes...almost everybody likes blue/deep blue/deep deep blue..:) [eh, well, me likes orange, too :)]

I thought it was an indoor pool. What I like is the clarity of the water.How you see to the bottom almost as if being there.

you've done a totally fantastic job here, Ad! the richness of the color, the lighting, the swirls...all totally impressive!!!! and these are really tough captures!! (at least for me anyway!! :)
