I wonder if this is natural or artificial DOF...I can't tell so kudos to you. I know you have the artistic sense to duplicate the effect regardless. You have such wonderful sensibilities with regard to composition here.

This chess picture reminds me off the time in my life when I could play with playing cards for our making up stories about kings and queens. Such a set of chess would be a huge inspiration for me at that time :) like it is for you
