Description

Gemini Telescope: There are tours to visit some of these observatories. The rangers will advise you no picture taking. Any use of observatory pictures for commercial use is prohibited (unless permission is granted by the observatories). I snuck all these pictures, lol. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

sneaky, sneaky Errol!!! You did a totally fantastic job with capturing the beauty of this place!! I love the road that seems to just drop off over a cliff, and i keep staring at the observatory, wondering how in the world they keep in so shiny!! LOL! (imagining and 50 foot squeegie!) And, of course, that sky is just amazing!!! Fantastic work Errol!!! Aloha!!!

ebsmooth, the public is allowed to visit inside some of these observatories but usually by appointment. They ask that you not stay on the mountain during night hours because lights from cars may interfere with their data collection. Thanks for asking.

Well, then, it's a good job that when I was up there, I was up with an astrophysicist friend on his observing run, not with a guided tour! I snapped photos left, right, and centre! Hmm, does that make me a threat to national (or planetary) security? Cheers!

Top of the world! That's the feeling I have here! With a view to other worlds, to boldly see what no one has ever seen before! Excellent work, Errol! Love it, with that gorgeous blue sky!
