Description
Multnomah Falls, located in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Only a 30 minute drive from where I live in Portland. The second highest waterfall in the U.S. behind Yosemite falls. I thought I'd try to go back in time before it turned into a swarming tourist attraction, but I left in the infamous trail bridge. Bryce 5 render, Poser, Tree Druid and slight Photoshop enhancements. Thanks for any views/comments, Mario.

Real nice... interesting perspective... lots of details, but not too much... very lively colors.. the fartest(spl?) water fall needs a bit of work, it has too many horizontal effects in it, so it does not really looks like it's really falling the way it should... other than that you did a very good job with this... keep it up...!!!

This is fantastic! I used to go to Multnomah Fals all the time when I lived in Portland. Used to go to the top and sometimes go back behind the falls. You've captured it very well. Gets my VOTE.

How did I do the lower falls? Started with a photo of the lower falls, in Photoshop: I painted the terrain elevations around the falls using the photo as a template. Imported the terrain I just painted into the terrain editor as a picture and used a 4 channel picture material. For the falls: I just duplicated the terrain and moved it ever so slightly. I used the photo image and mapped it parametrically to the new terrain. I used "color select" in Photoshop to isolate the waterfall and created a "black/white" alpha map to use as a transparency map so the first terrain would show through. That's it.
