Outstanding !

Very nice -- just out of curiosity, have you rendered this in Max?

I love your ships! I plan on using them once I know more about what I'm doing. One thing. The ship reflections on the water don't really look like reflections on waves. Is sucha thing even possible with 3DS Max? I've never used it.

Thank you all for the nice comments. This reneder was done entirely in Bryce 5. The ocean is actually a slab with a bumpy texture applied to it.

I have both your Warraok Kitt and Viking Longship, among others by others, and I cant wait to add La Licorne to my collection. This image is very well done but since it does say Your helpful comments for improving this image: right above the comments box and since I dont believe in posting empty, meaningless, ego-massaging superlatives I will try to offer my thoughts. My main observation is with the point of view. The two front lower sails are in almost perfect alignment and they in turn are aligned with and merge into the horizon line. I think that a slightly lower POV would improve the image and give more emphasis and definition to the various elements of the ship. I also find that the very bright sky along the horizon on the right tends to draw my eye there but theres really nothing interesting to see, or imagine, in that area. Like I said, this is just my opinion for what its worth Walt

Nice modelling. The only issue I have with it is the design on the bow cutwater that looks like a grille. Ships never had a feature like that, it would have weakened the strength of the keel, the backbone of the ship. The detail of the ship is very good, but that little feature on the bow is confusing, and not needed. Oh, also, the ship has all sails furled as if she is in port or at anchor. But you show the anchors catted and fished to the hull. This would make the ship drift with the tide, possibly making her run aground. To show the one anchor facing us the viewer is good, to show the detail. But the anchor on the starboard side away from us I would have that one anchoring the ship. Or at least the anchor rope stretched down to the water, anchoring the ship. Otherwise, very nice.

Your modeling skills are fantastic. Would like to have some of your ships.

This is really excellent...Been looking for a nice ship rendered large enough for my desktop. :))))

Thanks you all for the nice comments. Guslaw, thank you for the advice. I'm ok at modelling but when it comes to artitic flair, I can use all the help I can get. FitArtistSF, I see your point about the anchor. For the "grille" thing, it's just a painted-on scale design, just like on the real ship. (this ship's design is based on "L'Aurore", a real life 1766 french corvette.) I tried to stay as close as possible to the original design without sending my poly count to the roof.
