Would you tell me just what to say to my 21 yr. old niece? My 21 yr. old niece that is the smarter of my sister-in -laws oldest children . My 21 yr. old niece who has a 3 yr. old son . My 21 yr. old niece that for some reason has decided to dislike me and does her best to hurt me . My 21 yr. old niece that decided to try to stop breathing permanently for the second time in her life two days ago . How do I tell her I give a dam and make her believe it ? Hum well honestly I cant can I. I cant make her believe any thing I say . Just like I cant make boumboum who has decided his life is a living hell ..that his life is still worth living or Kurt Lundquvist who has decided his art is worse than what my 5 yr. old did when he was two on the bed room wall... that his art is dang good. but I can tell you this and I want you to take a good look at me. Yep that's me right around christmas. I don't look too bad for a 32 yr. old mother of 4 who has been married 13 years do I ? Well let me list my faults ok . I procrastinate, I lack confidence in myself , and use to once a year I'd have a full emotional melt down and cry for 4 hours on my best friends shoulder . Guess what I can't do that any more One, my best friend moved to California , Two, my hubby just yells to snap me out of it and Three my sons freak and think I'm suicidal. So what do I do when I start going to that dark place? Well I come here and some where boum is joking and I smile, or Kurt has posted and I smile or one of my many faves has put up something stunning , or wrote something touching , or some one has decided reading is not so bad because of something I wrote. All of the sudden life gives me a nudge because all of you reminded me to look for the good things . So remember no matter how bad your life is or gets even the smallest breath of your life on someone else's effects their's in a good way .So if you weren't there to do that.. who's to say what would happen to them? Remember just keep breathing all of you when that place gets dark because someone some where is breathing too and it will effect you!! Never loose that hope Never !!!!
( my apologies for venting sorry every bunny hope it didnt startle you too much please check out all my faves )

Wanted to comment on this. Yeah, it's really hard to know what to do about a suicidal niece. And I do not know what it's like for her. You can't stop someone who really wants to from suiciding. But for most of us, it's not that clear cut. For me, a part of me really wants to die, and that darkness is always there. But another part of me wants to keep living and try to make things better. Mostly I just want to end the hurting. To be able to accomplish things and not have it taken away from me over and over again--to feel my life isn't a waste. One of the things for me that drives suicide is..the feeling nobody would even notice. That I'm not making a difference for anyone. I still can't imagine anyone going into grief or mourning if I died--that's one of the things driving suicide. But...there's the other side, too. Chat's my play time. It's where I get to joke and tease and be treated as normal. It's a reminder that there is still fun in life. Smiles and laughter still exist, and that I can bring those smiles and laughts to the faces of others. For a while I forget the pain of what I have to deal with in real life. And I also get a feeling, if I weren't here, these people would miss me. I've seen how the room dies when I've been away for a week or more, and how it fills up again when I start being there every day again. And that helps. Your niece needs something like that. YOU need something like that. Reminders that you can still have a good time, can still have fun, can still love and be loved, can still matter to others. And reminders that there's hope. Darkness isn't all there is. Though sometimes it feels that way. Thanks for sharing this message with me. It was well worth reading! :) HUGS

It's always just around the corner... just out of reach and you're bringing tears to my eyes. Thanks for showing us your image -- you actually glow. I see your inner light. You're beautiful, truly. You've picked an amazing path in life.. and it picked you. Anyone who writes with the sheer born knack that you have needn't worry about what to tell those close to you -- let your heart carry your words. Your actions and patience will survive these trials.

Your words hit me straight in the heart and the gut - there are things in this life that are simply out of our control and acceptance of that is part of the challenge and even comfort. You care, and ultimately that's what counts in so many ways. It's sure what makes you such a gifted writer. Even if it hurts and causes a crying meltdown - and hey, only four hours once a year is pretty good. I can do four in a day.:o) You've always shown tremendous courage in your writing and it's no surprise it shows so brightly in your life as well. Thanks for sharing your feellings ... you're not raw, girl, your perfect and real and it looks very good on you. :o) CC

Well, I'm really sorry about all the stress!! I have found that when I'm working on an image, I really don't think about anything else. This is a really escape for me. I think you are very lucky to have such a wonderful talent with words and stories. Hang in there!!!!

First of all.... here's a ((((BIG HUG)))) :o) I'm really not sure how you would explain to your niece how you feel. Maybe if you send her here to read this.. maybe she'd finally understand that you care? I don't know.. but it's worth a try :o) About the suicide thing.. I know life can get pretty bad at times, but if you stop long enough and think, you will realize that it could always be worse.. Suicide is never an answer..

"once a year I'd have a full emotional melt down and cry for 4 hours" -- That's not normal? I do that on a weekly basis. Some say I've been melted down most all my lifetime. WINK. Trying to make 'logic' out of life at times is like thinking you surely are going to win the lottery - the next ticket you buy. It ain't gonna' happen. So, my dear soul, deep breathe, hug and love those in your life that are dearest to you. Above all, give YOURSELF a HUG each day first. Your gas tank has to be full to drive others (old, dumb TallPockets analogy). Btw - you don't look bad for a ''62'' year old mother of four. WINK2. PEACE to you, dear lady. TallPockets/brian.

venting, crying and writing are all healthy outlets for what you are going through. Suicide has touched my family twice and there is a fear of it happening again. The fear, the helplesness you feel can be overwhelming and that is hard to deal with many times it is just finding the strength to get through another day that is hard but take comfort from your friends and family Chris

Goodness. I don't often comment on people's art ( never really considering myself an artist and therefore not exactly qualifying for an "artistic opinion" ).. however this really spoke to me and I felt the need. Firstly.. purely on a superficial level it's great to see such a lovely pic of you. Time and time again you've left such uplifting comments and I want to assure you that although I've kept quiet it doesn't mean that I haven't seen or admired your work. Secondly.. depression is something that I have a lot of experience with , as do a lot of "arty" types I guess, and being bipolar thoughts of suicide are something that crop up regularly. It's an endless pit of dispair. The upside however is that you are doing all that possibly can be done. To feel loved , valued and sometimes just noticed is often enough to cling on for just one more night. And the night after that... and so on. Never ever underestimate what you're doing.. it's the littlest things that can sometimes make the world of difference. Take care, my thoughts are with you. Michelle x

Davina, your courage is awesome,I admire you for this no end.I thasnkyou from the heart for you openess and your honesty.Im your age and feel alot of what you wrote. Why are there so many dilmes and real problems in life.We cant do much about it I feel.We can guide to our best abilitys and hope the others take from what we do and say .I have regrets in this life, wishing I said the righ thing or done the right thing sonner, prevention could of happened in certain scenarios etc..I feel with your niece she has not seen enough to realise her situation.I could only suggest if possible a day away from all others and a teach of what life is to us.How the way we are tested and its our contribuation towards others aswell that matters in this life.We may feel heavy burdens now but we are onl;y menat to be weighed with what we can carry. She will get what she seeks from this life with patients ,its just a test at times to have it.Im not religious at all,I have theorys thats all!Mnay humans want to help each other..If you tell your niece to read from this website ,its the guest book comments of people whom have just lost loved ones. Its hard but shows what suicide leaves with others, strentgh isnt taking your life but fighting through it all.It gets easier ,always..Hugs calum to you both. http://www.after-death.com/guestbook/page01.shtml
