A very imaginative use of your textures. One minor observation though... Just a little bit more room at the top to avoid almost cutting off the head and fingers and a little less room at the bottom. The expaanse of chest at the bottom does not really add anything. And maybe shifting it just a hair to the left for better balance. Just my 2 cents. Again, very well done...

i dunno, i like the close crop at the top of the image, the way it forces my eyes immediately into the character's reality instead of easing me in more gently - it's a feel similar to the way a rabbit punch to the chest can steal your breath for a second or two... the feel i get from the image itself is not quite lamentation, but a close cousin thereof - there is a hint of wistfulness & ache, or p'raps a longing of sorts, to his countenance, emphasised by her hands wrapped about his head, the symbolic wrapping of his mind in thoughts of her, which to me speaks of obsession, the unhealthy & desperate feeling that that can impose, and the want for release from it [aa well as the desire to keep it ;)]
