Photography has pretty much changed my life, in that, I look at every little thing differently now. I get so much pleasure being outdoors and finding new things to photograph. It gives me a tickle inside! I love the birds and flowers and all of nature so much. Sharing these treasures with all of you is very much a pleasure too. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoy taking them! This has been one of the most fun things I ever done... joining this community, it's given me more courage and confidence to explore what I really love to do... A BIG HUGE THANKS to all my friends here!!!!!!

I don't know what the name is but we call them "Garden Spider". They sure decorate themselves around homes. Beautiful macro shot. Aloha

I just got the word from the bug guy, it's an: Adult female black and yellow argiope spider, "Argiope aurantia". Note the white zig-zags of webbing in her web. These structures are called stabilimenta, but their function is not entirely understood.

I had one of these in my yard last year, commonly known as Banana Spiders...that's exactly where his web was, between two Banana plants.

Great shot. We have them here and they are commonly called 'garden spider' and they eat aphids in the garden.
