Description
Hi all
The two At-Te's were rendered in Cinema 4D and the resultant GI, diffuse & alpha pass was then composited onto the MJW backdrop/backplate in After Effects and Photoshop CS. In hindsight, the lens flare should not be there, as it gives false lighting cues re: sun position and the position of the hard edged shadow - sorry.
A 600 frame animation is currently in the pipeline and will be posted soon.
Model by 3rd party and lens flare courtesy of Knoll Lens Flare Pro suite.
Enjoy and TFV - comments most welcome

This is very creative and talented work. I love this creation for its design, colors, focus, and Pov. Especially the additional placements makes this a very unique and "Top Level" creation. If i dont vote for this work, I'm a loser, so i better vote. :D Big Vote!!

Nice colours and detailed looking models, they would benefit from proper texturing, too clean and clinical looking for battle hardy At-Te's ? As you say the shadows seem at odds with the light source creating the lensflare but also with the light source hitting the moon?? and what's that black line under the belly of the nearest ? look forward to seeing the anim.

Blazing first composite job... you did everything right in my opinion. Agree that a material, even simple would have improved the final result. A tip, an area light would have improved the edges of the shadow.

Cool looking.. reminds me one of levels in Star Wars Battlefront game. One thing that would improve the models would to "Dirty them up"

hehehe...Nice models Angela...will be a while till I can recreate them with MJT....but its possible :) I was going to add "needs some materials" till I read everyones comments so I wont say it...Oppps I just did :) Excellent works. At least you learnt from your own mistakes re-lighting....we all make them once :)) In addition I would also say check the lighting on the rock formations at the back as they appear to be lit from Left & behind :)

Very nice compo! I love the colors and lighting here. Apart all the technical remarks above that are good advices,( but I guess you already knew), I'd say it's a very interesting experiment that is a good inspiration for new ideas of compositing. Thanks for sharing Angela :-)
