Like most artists I started out very young. I started drawing silly cartoons, mainly inspired by artists like Franquin. When I was a little older, I started reading more mature comic books and was blown away by the style of Henk Kuijpers, a very successful Dutch comic book artist. From then on, I endeavoured to improve my drawing style to draw more realistic scenes, but always with a comic taste.
Instead of taking the plunge into the uncertain world of trying to become a successful artist, I followed through on my other completely unrelated passion for astrophysics. This education robbed away a lot of my time and my drawing came to a screeching halt. I put a checkmark at "source of income" now, so I'm moving back to my roots and start drawing again (when I'm not distracted by games, movies, tv-series, piano and of course work).
I hope you'll enjoy my new, and maybe old work and please leave comments, both critical and non-critical are welcome :).
cheers!

for being a first trial, I think it's pretty and good :) for tips in general and helps on how to improve images, I think the best is to come in 2d Forum and just ask for advices there :) here I can see a nice taste for colouring and just some lil mistakes in the proportions (eyes, lips and chin, hands and arms...) but that could also belong to a style you want to mantain, so it might be not that much of a mistake either. Keep it up, hope to see more soon :)

Thanks for the tip gallimel, the lil mistakes are not a style i'm trying to maintain, i'm tryinh to slowely phase them out. I think a did better in 'breezy' and 'flamenco'(see my gallery). But i'm still not satisfied. This drawing is older then the drawings i just mentioned. So maybe its getting better....
