Right but Wrong
What is moral
What is wrong
Have I been blind
All along
I've been taught
A certain way
Society mandates
The way I play
In living life
Two ways I think
They contradict
But still are linked
Do I live
The way I've learned
I feel I should
Or I'll get burned
Or do I live
To taste my life
Embrace the world
And make it mine
My soul does think
That life's about
The experience
Releasing doubt
And if the things
I do or say
Are wrong to some
Then that's okay
But then my conscience
Starts to burn
The things I know
That I have learned
Is this wrong
If it feels right
Something precious
I'm supposed to fight?
So in my heart
It doesn't jive
Do what I'm told
Or feel alive
I think this battle
Will never cease
Until my confusion
I do release
When I'm old
Before I die
I don't want to say
I lived a lie
Did what I should
But lost my heart
Went through life cold
But played my part
I think I'll capture
A few memories
Hold them as precious
And finally be me
