Description
It is best not to reveal who I am or where I've been
from what I have written or done.
In these dangerous times of broken images
and cruel distortions of reality,
in this, less-than-perfect world,
of oppressive, surreal injustice,
it is best for truth to remain hidden,
for my lips to stay silent.
The deeds and manner of my life transformed me,
have made me better and more complete.
The hate and cruelty I encountered,
more human and much wiser.
In spite of tortures and lies,
I have risen from my ashes
to bring light, at least to myself
- if not to others.
In turn, the obstacles I encountered,
altered the deeds and manner of my life,
but from these I have learned that,
in this less-than-perfect world,
of deliberately-created rupture and conflict,
speaking in riddle is best,
staying obscure is wiser.
So let noone know who I have been
or where I am going,
from all that I have said and done.
Only through my most undiscernible actions
and my most covert writings,
perhaps in allegorical, rhythmic verse and vague simile,
I will slowly reveal the truth
to those willing to decipher it,
to those wise enough to understand it.
