Description

I have been playing with Terragen for some years, once or twice a month, whenever I have time. This is my first post, and I had to work out how to produce small enough thumbnails etc, but IRFANVIEW was a great help. I have used the Kingdom of Magic TER file 'a_kin(g)d(om)_of_magic.TER' ( possibly from RIDS ) for this, along with the 'highcountrysummer.SRF' and the 'MagicPurple.ATM', before experimenting a fair bit, trying to get a beach of sorts. I set the sea level to 112m, and stretched the clouds a bit. Thanks to the persons / sites , off whom I have downloaded these, over the last months or so. I must apologize to the creators of these files, since I do not have a note of who you are so that I could provide links and credit. I know that this offering is a rudimentary Terragen image, but I could not resist the clouds. Apart from the necessary resizing and changing of BMP to JPG, to fit in the upload requirements, there has been no postwork on this. John

The title perfectly illustrates this strange and mysterious world... I don't have any skill at all in Terragen's technology so I'm just enable to judge any work but something tells me that you're going the right way!... Cheers...

I like the water and the terrain. The clouds are... let's say unusual. ;)

Joining Philippe I see you've managed to get rid of the camera and exchange it for a larger viewfinder with keyboard and mouse! :) The clouds make me think there's another fluid-surface up there, but that must be the eerie ghost-mood! ;)

As the image slowly rendered on my screen ( over 4 hours ) I thought, at first, that someone had painted a series of gauze backdrop screens for the theatre, and just hung them in the sky. They slowly grew on me! I noted the CLOUD and LIGHTING settings, just in case I wanted to try and reconstruct the sky later. I offer them here. CLOUDS Sky Size 7000 Altitude 1950m Depth/Thickness 1024 3D Density Contrast20 Density Shift 0 Peristence 100 Recurrence 71 LC Size 6 LIGHTING SunHeading -38.66 SunAltitude 34.8 TC, CC, SA, SW all checked John

I've played around with terragen a bit but don't know how to use it. I like the water but am wondering if the clouds look sort of like skyscrapers falling out the sky. Who am I to talk! It does have a mood.

Great sky and effective colour. The water realism in Terragen always amazes me.
