Description
This piece was done with colored pencil and watercolor of a local character in Virginia City, Nevada. He is usually seen with his mule, Virginia, but I caught up with him and he graciously allowed me to photograph him so that I could do his portrait. He goes by Sweetwater John and has been mining in Nevada for over forty years.

I don't have to talk to Sweetwater John by e-mail. I live only a half hour away from him and can see him any time. I can take his photo, along with his donkey too, with his permission. He is happy to do it. He is interesting, no doubt about it. Thanks.
