Description

Here's the wettest spot on earth and the volcano that created the island of Kauai, Mount Waialeale. It averages about 450 inches or 1150 cm of rain annually at the peak, and one year had over 700 inches or 1800 cm of rain at the top! This was about the only time we could see the top of the mountain during our trip - generally it was covered with clouds. My thanks to chicajm for helping me edit the photo.

Hey, I was just talking about this yesterday one a photo someone posted of Kauai! :) I passed by there once and yep, it was raining! Thanks for posting. My only suggestion is to raise the quality of the JPEG a little.

I know the feeling of being waterlogged. I would need a life preserver on Waialeale. Fantastic Picture and Excellent information. Aloha
