Description

The Last Dance

the last dance of the evening
how it crumbled our little charade
wound tightly no more in our armor of cloth
the bandages loosened and fell

raw, with tender feelings torn
from where we had them hidden
since they said heartsongs were pass

Very impressive presentation. The image is lovely, it really evokes the feelings and movement of the dance floor or the blur of motion as the dancers glance upwards at the lights suspended from the ornate ceiling. The poem is great as well; the ending of the dance, the stripping of the souls, reveals the basic truths of our lives. Disillusionment is a good thing, standing naked before ourselves and each other we see and feel what is really there without the trappings of decoration. Great imagery throughout, a nice glimpse into your world!

I'm sorry, Helen, I'm unable to comment on this - the beauty of your work has taken my breath away and stopped my hands in mid-air above the keyboard!! Astounding! :)

Like the spirit behind its creation, this is intensely beautiful. You always amaze me my dearest friend. Happy Valentines day to you, I would hug you in person... but since I cannot do so you will have to simply take this one... HUGGGGGGG
