I like the layout just fine, but the lighting and textures need some attention. Notice where the light is coming from? It appears to be coming from no visible source. The lantern appears to be lit, but is not internally bright, itself. The fire gives off no glow. Make both of those your light-sources to achieve more realistic lighting. Also, stay away from low-res textures, they instantly kill any realism. This aspect will take some serious work, so keep this scene around and keep tweaking it! I really like the layout and camera-angle, though!
