Wonderful image.Excellent vantage point and your array of spears behind does give a sense of masses, tilting the heads of some soldiers for variety might add more realism to an already great scene.

Your work is always excellent, and this is a real gem in your crown...so to speak. Exemplary of your style, and lacking nothing. It's like you've momentarily tensed, marshalled all your talents for a final, mighty thrust and shout! How can I not vote?

I like the colors, the composition and the scene in general. Also, it is refreshing to see a departure from the usual plain-posed presentation. Now for a couple suggestions: 1) The textures could use some weathering to add to the realism (hell, they could use a LOT of weathering - this legion came right off the factory floor!) 2) You should vary the expressions and poses on the visible faces in the front line or two. 3) I don't suppose it matters so much, but is this a formation a Roman legion would have used? I'm asking out of curiosity, 'cause I don't know.

Well I don't agree so much about the expressions, looks to me like some sort of war cry. A nice piece of work in all aspects!

Well done! Something about the environment in this one that hints at an early morning skirmish... perhaps these legionaires are forming up into a phalanx leading up to a charge? :o) Nice to see you departing from the Greek and moving towards the Roman... but what happened to Etruscan?

That would be a Roman Centurion. My favorite image here. Very dynamic with emotional content.
