Description

This is a 1977 Technics SL-23 Turntable. I modelled it on the one i own, so all the measurements and textures are accurate. I used Rhino 3D version 3 to model it, and then imported to Carrara Pro to render it. The background was a template that came with Carrara. Please comment, i worked hard on this and really enjoyed it.

I own a Technics turntable just like yours. I still use it occasionally, playing records from my large collection, which seems so much more enjoyable than playing CDs. Viewing your excellent pictures made me decide to play gramophone records instead of CDs tonight.

Just a few feet from where I'm sitting, I have a Technics SL-BD20D -- about 20 years newer and with a very similar design look. Records v. CD? I still like many of my LP albums; I also like the convenience of playing a CD -- especially in the car. OTOH, playing an LP and recording each side as a WAV; restore the audio then separate the tracks in order to create a CD -- that is not nearly as much fun as just playing an LP. Progress?

Ah nostalgia. Do you know they invented a laser player for records? Costs about 800 and uses 3 beams.

It looks like a really good modell, yes, but the composition could be improved (Lightning, other surrounding, HDRI, Deph of Field)

Very nice image, render, and model. Makes me nostalgic for my old records and the 70's. Great job.
