Description
This was one of those poems that just kinda hit me in the middle of trying to fall asleep last night. I wrote it, thinking that I had someone to share the oneness with...someday i will. I really wanted to post it, so I chose a pic of my dad and step mom. Those two are closer than anyone I have ever met. So, in a way, I guess I dedicate it to all three of us, to them for having what they are looking for, and for myself for the search of the one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our backs turned to each other,
Living our own separate lives,
Oblivious to one another.
As time goes on,
Our bodies turn,
Like the hands of a clock.
Two strangers in the night,
Embracing each other.
Our souls have always known each other.
Tracing my fingers over your face,
Skin so soft,
Welcoming my touch.
Our finger interlock,
Each filling the spaces,
Where the other is incomplete.
Two broken hearts
Emerge to become one.
One perfect being
Created by the Spirit.
Completeness is accomplished
Unconditional love is shared
Between two imperfect beings.
Love the weakness,
Nurture it to make it strong.
Alone we are incomplete and weak,
Together, we are one.
As one we take on the world
And conquer over all.
Nicely stated and written...no fears, I know that special one will enter your life in due time. At least you have great role models to show you what it CAN be like. :)
True soul mates...... you have perfectly described what I seek, hope and wait for. I am so glad you got up in the middle of the night to share this. What a tribute to your Dad and Stepmom.....
It does come to those who wait and then you can soar upon its wings. I wish you good speed in your search. This is a lovely post and a fitting tribute to those so clearly in love.
Excellent work. Old T.P. has learned over his lifetime that there is a difference between being 'lonely' and 'being alone'.
