Description

Just a recent job for a non-profit group here in Michigan. Ordinarily, I tend to favor very simple and very graphic solutions for identities/logos. Illustration heavy logos tend to not reproduce well at small sizes and color rich logos don't convert well to black and white. I've been lucky enough to do an awful lot of identity work like this, and i seem to be able to come up with solutions that please the clients consistently. I like working logos, it's a challenge i take very seriously. On this job, the client had a very clear idea of what they wanted, very clear direction about what their budget could support, and how the logo would be used. Heaven to work with, twice over since their budget couldn't really support what i'd ordinarily bill for an ident package. They chose number 5, which i thought was a strong choice and certainly a nice break from what you ordinarily see from this sort of organization. Was a fun fairly quick job that didn't pay a lot of money but i very much enjoyed doing it. Next comes a small brochure and web development for them. so it's not sci-fi or nearly (artistically) nude, jobs like these keep my family clothed and fed. thanks for looking in!

no.5 takes hold of the eyeball- I personally choose 3 although it probably doesn't repro up or down nicely-I think background and foreground getting mushy- no.1 is a beauty and I can just imagine there objections to it.I started out wanting to do this type of art and was very good at it but could not handle the idiosyncrasies of the public no what I mean?.......wink ,wink....nudge,nudge-excellent work however you view it.

had to stand up & look at them from a ways back... see what caught the eye... 5 is certainly a good choice, my 2nd would be 4, then 1... did something similiar for the state park i worked at at... too bad only a seasonal position :]

They're all cool, but I think either 3 or 4 would be most practical. Excellent work!

Interesting reactions from all above... I immediately went for 5 as it brought me into the design... water implied-just-over=the-reeds-and-grasses sort of anticipatory thing!!!
