Description

As the title says, the clouds have parted giving way to a warming light on this world....kind of like the feeling someone gets when returning to this wonderful community that is Renderosity ! This one took 20 H of render even on the dualG5 (although I found out today that Terragen does not use both processors...have to wait for Terragen 2....) but the dimension was 5000 x 3750 with all the render options at max ! The terrain is from Terrafiction and apparently from Colorado (King Creek). This was an exercise in light with the clouds casting shadows option turned on. Must have pressed that "generate clouds" button a hundred time !!! Finally got something that looked decent. As for the water....well I know that I always seem to come up with dark mysterious waters but I cannot seem to help myself ! I obviously seem to have a preference for it ! ....must have happened when I was a kid !!! Hope you enjoy this and thank you for any comments or suggestions. Your lighting hit the right spot. As far as the dark water goes, I rather like it and it helps enhance the mountain which is the 'feature' of the POV.

Excellent image! about the water if i understand better you arent satisfied about the too dark colours. Using cloud cast shadow the water seems to be completely in shadow zone, so to control colours in those area you should work on shadow lighting settings (colours and overall lightness)

Its good to have you back Paul. As in nature, each piece of land and water will have an optimal lighting condition where all the elements are viewed at their best. This is a 'late in the day' (or, early) lighting condition. With it, you've made a beautiful and natural looking picture.
