Description

Thanks for viewing 513 terrain created in WorldMachine Would appreciate comments about sharpening and gamma correction - especially from those who have professional monoitors and colour set-upz terrain is available to those who would like it and EoinArmstrong could be in the middle of creating a larger version A lot of Post pro created with another render! comments criticisms always welcome!!

Love the desolate colours and pv; excellent mood - A high detail of this terrain would be excellent!

Excellent work... COngratulations. I particularly appreciate the non-conventional treatment of the terrain, the stratas and above all the colors. You ask comments on sharpening and/or gamma correction : I have no comments about it for this image. Unfortunately, this is the maximum you can get with an unregistered version of Terragen and World Machine. Why not trying to load a WM 513 terrain in TerraFormer2 (totally free program) and to upsize it up to 2049 or even 4097 with Map filters / Fractal enlarge ? Then, even with an unregistered version of Terragen, you can utilise this terrain for getting an image. But with a registered TG version, you can get e.g. a 4000x3000 image, which contains much more details, and, only then, the sharpening after downsizing will begin to be a problem.

I would try one step of sharpening anyway and see how it looks. Unfortunately you might find the surfaces need to be finer, less bumpy and less fractal noise to look the proper scale. I am going to try some smaller renders at home to see what your shoes feel like. Maybe you have a birthday coming up and might drop a hint about getting registered? :)
