Description

This is my first galley post, and my first attempt at creating decorated/textured clothing. Sorry for the girl with a sword pose, but doesn't everyone have to do one sometime? I'm a noob when it comes to creative/organic 3D, previously dealing primarily with the technical side of landscape recreation and massing models with very little creative license. I'm hoping for constructive criticism and general comments on the image (lighting, texturing, etc.). I plan to add more to the image (landscape, buildings, plants, etc.), but I wanted to get some feedback on my progress so far Technical info on my work in the image: Cloths modeled in CS3/4pro and C4D 6, textured with Body Paint and Photoshop Sword modeled in CS3 (spline modeler), and textured with CS4 Pro The "rock" modeled in CS4 Pro, textured with Body Paint and Photoshop Lighting/background - HDRI image from Dosch Designs (free sample) and one accent light Figure posed in Poser 5 (with dynamic cloth) Rendered in CS4 Pro General Credits: Koz's Long Hair Evo(free stuff), Morph Sandals by Shadownet (free stuff) thumb_1150982.jpg
Next Image: Contemplation (Nudity)

This is very good.. Your shadows are spot on.. Only nitpick I have is the hand not touching the sword.. Other than that, it's very beautiful!

Very good for a first go at "creative" 3D...some observations... Tho not a poser user myseld I feel certain there is some way to import the sword into Poser in order to better connect the hand with hilt, and re: the sword, I don't think it would be embedded in the stone, which is nicely textured as is the sword. All else seem very fine work, great modelling on the cloth, with a nice choice using HDRI for lighting as it seems to supply the most realistic attempts at real light.

I think that you have created a very beautiful picture indeed. There is great elegance in its 'simplicity'. If you really are fishing for constructive criticism, then I would suggest that you work a little more on your models face I find her expression rather empty and its a pity because this picture is very beautiful and my attention was immediately drawn to her face. I find that the edge of the rock in the foreground needs a little work too. If you could make it more rugged, then that would make your scene far more convincing. Dont be discouraged by these words. Your picture is wonderful. Tweak the details and youll come close to creating a masterpiece. Excellent work!

I really like the composition and the clothes you created. Actually, I was wondering if the sword was meant to be imbedded in the rock. If so, you should make that intention more obvious. Otherwise, I agree that the pose needs some fine tuning.

Excellent work. As has been mentioned. She just needs to get a grip on that excellent sword.

Thanks for the criticism, the helpfull eyes, and of course the compliments! Sorry about the sword, that's what I get for finishing up at 1:00 am with tired eyes and blurred vision. Off to make adjustments, thanks again!

Keep working on it, it's really good. I like the skirt, I miss something like this for my Poser ladies ;). As mentioned by all the people above, you should adjust the hand pose, looks weird. And she could look at the camera, that would be awesome. Anyway, as a WIP it's better than lots of finished works I've seen. Good luck :-)
