Description

An entry for the monthly photo contest... Opposites. A Chess set represents opposites... in color, sides in a game, and strategies. It could be suggested that it also symbolizes war, the ultimate method of resolving opposites in ideology. Production Notes. 1. Sony f828, 8mp 2. PSP9 ... minimal post work, frame and signature. 3. One chess set, "imported" for me many years ago by a friend, from Hong Kong via submarine. Thanks for viewing.

fantastic b2 - the history of the chess set magnifies the centuries of sun tzu's teachings about war and places them in a timeless frame. I love the polarity of the opposing sides, but more how chess (and life) seem to constantly remind us that even enemies of different colors/sides/cultures still hold comparable social and military ranks, strategies, cunning, abilities, and humanity. Not just any chess set would do for the effect you have created; the powerful yet subtle imagery of this shot truly speaks unwritten volumes about war. Kudos =)

this picture makes me think ... think why politicians do not play chess when they are in a conflict situation instead of sending soldiers to make war...
