Description

Kilauea Volcano: Kilauea Volcano is located on the Big Island of Hawaii and is one of the most active volcanoes on earth. The most recent eruption is at the Pu'u O'o vent which started in 1983 and destroyed approx 181 homes. Walk with me around Kilauea Volcano area. This particular volcano crater is called Halema'uma'u (house surrounded by a particular fern). Hale means house/home. It is the home of the volcano goddess we call "Pele". It is said never to take anything away from the volcano area or there would be bad luck upon you. Until this day, we continue to received many lava stones at Hilo Post office to be returned. Many bad luck stories came from tourist around the world. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

so verrrrry beautiful! i love all the different tones in the soil!!! It looks like 4 completely different terrains because of the color differences. do you know what causes that? this has the feel of a very special place...high energy...and i see how there's some growth here. I really love this one a lot, Errol! you really captured some wonderful textures here and the magic of this place!!! excellent work!!!!
