Work on the flower itself is lovely - the background is to competitive with the flower tho. The fine diagonal lines and the heavy colour overwhelm the composition - as a suggestion try removing the background to it's own layer, soften focus and partially desaturate, or mayby darken after defocus, Hmmmm. More play is warrented I think, hope this helps. "Amaryllis II" truely rocks has an image, but this version can as well I think.

I like the treatment you did to the background. Artists do all sorts of things to separate the subject from the background!
