Description

Another oldie postcard. I've always liked this one 'as is,' but decided to see what comes out of colorizing it. I suppose it's because the costume is not overdone as often seems to be the case with the "Salome" and related themes. Top left: as found. Top right: basic colorizing in Adobe: flesh tone, hem of skirt, head band. Face has rough-in color only. Bottom left: Experimentation at work. Headband, brassiere and skirt given a red background. This preserved the diaphanous effect, but was a bit too heavy. That green flooring wasn't helping either, but it was all suggesting something else. Bottom right: I like this. Understated but colorized. Skirt and brassiere were given a light lavender wash and the sparkle added to the BL image was toned down. Floor was recolored and hit with a light 3D effect. Dancer was also given a light 3D effect. Face received light lipcolor and some light eyeshadow. All attempts at working the background were overkill. The frame/background is a black marble pattern hit with the stained glass filter and a vignette. Funky, but I like it. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

I think No. 2 is best, but the bra was a tad too plain. Interesting thing was how the different app changed the rest of the card's coloring ever so slightly. I did do anything to the carpet or background, but it seems to have picked up some color from 'somewhere.'
