Description
I am having a hard time finding words that express what I feel but I must try. I am filled with sorrow for the loss that the familes, friends and America has recently suffered. I feel that the whole world has suffered as well. I may not have known anyone who was directly murdered, but indirectly I am sure these people have had a profound influence on my life. Whether it was through financial interests, music, art ,books or making someone smile so that smile eventually was transferred from person to person til it made me smile.
If I could change time I would bring them back right now. I can't. I feel the best I can do is to honor their lives and death by remembering what happened.
I feel we who survive must also try to find something positive out of this event so that their deaths were not totally in vain. From September 11th forward I have decided to work on becoming a more compasionate person. In the hopes that my compassion will influence others to do the same. And maybe someday I will have indirectly made someone smile and lend a hand that they might not otherwise have done. This image is of a pond not to far from where I live. It's name is "Forget Me Not Pond". I am going to hang it in both my home and work office as a daily reminder of my personal promise to these people and their families. I won't forget them.
