Description

It's like a sea with no shore. Sand, wet sand, snow on sand and up there uh.... very dark sand. Those patterns never cease to fascinate me. Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 100 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

They fascinate me too! Even though this is not a warm sandy beach, the patterns still remind me of the discomfort of walking barefoot on a very hard ridged beach when I was a little girl!

Little waves are significant because in sand there is no statistical math to create peaks and billows as in water. Long durations blows in the mountains are common even with short fetch to exploit the modulus of sand and snow.

When you told me ice and sand last week, I had no idea there would be so much variety in this series. I should have had more faith in you. :) Beautifully subtle colors, shapes and light.

This is the crossing of the desert... How far is the sea? How long do we still have to walk, JC? A guy with the same initials than yours managed to stay 40 days. (that's what "they" say!).. Mmmhhh, maybe he was suffering the same fascination you mention there...

an abstract work of art in the sand!!! i love the movement in this! seems as those those lines are alive somehow...kinda like a snake slithering on the ground. sorry for the bad parallel. i don't see or feel snakes here, but the movement of a snake is here. at least that's what i see. i want to follow them and see where they're going. i think they're looking for water! Yes, quite fascinating and very beautiful! i would love to see more like this! Fantastic capture, Jan-Carel!
