Description

Along the shore near the Presidio in San Francisco, we encountered many stacks of rocks, some quite charming and whimsical. This pair reminded me of a momma bird edging her chick further out along the branch. And there is a storyteller watching and waiting to tell the tale of a stone leaving gravity behind. It was extremely cold, which kept me from adding another to the social grouping. (It is hard to balance rocks with hands in pockets.) I'll return on a warmer day! :)

Goldsworthy is my favorite living artist. And these being sited where they'll eventually tumble back into the waves would please him... he plays with time as well as materials. :)
