Apophysis postprocessed in The GIMP.
This was just a dull formless brown faint glow when I stumbled upon it - it was so bad I decided to render it at 1600x1200 and then play with it in GIMP to see if anything interesting was really there.

it looks to me like a polished rock and is really beautiful work
