Description
Thought I'd try another abstract rendering. This one took about 40 hours to render on a Mac G4/533. I was using the computer to do a few other things while it rendered, so that slowed it down some, but all that refraction and reflection certainly does take a while to crunch through! I was pretty pleased with the results, however -- hope you like it. Check out my other images too!

a doughnut worth 40 hours of bakeing looks tasty :)

This image is my kind of taste, if you look at my pics, you know why, but, sorry, you should look out maybe for a PC, it could render this image in 40 min. (I know what I've been talking about:-))

Crisp and clean thing.Very Good. Try going to the Apple menu -get info-memory. Allocate more memory to the Bryce software. I have 500meg when I use Bryce so I can work fast. Keep up the fine work. B.

Now THAT is a classy rendering

Sorry JPeter, but I really don't think so. If this was all reflection, it would render pretty quickly, as you said. Refraction (especially this much of it) is much, MUCH slower. Also, as I said in my initial comments, I was rendering in the background while I was using the computer for various other things.

Amazing what you can do with a little refraction and reflection -- but yes, the refraction is a killer on the render time. I love this image, though.
