Description
Terrain from Phantom Ranch Arizona Dem.
My first real exercise in texture overlays and my first post at RR for a long, long time (the quality in the TG gallery has become frighteningly high)!
Post work - sharpening and contrast in PS7.
Comments appreciated.
Many thanks for viewing.

Outstanding texture work! Tutorial? Beautiful!
Simplicity
Excellent work I like how the grass flows down the rock. The texture is outstanding.

I like the "crackle" effect on the rocks..fog gives it a nice feeling!

The strata and textures are wonderful. The moss growing on the mountains looks great also. Very realistic scene!
TerraDreamer
Very nice surfaces. I like how the moss just drapes over the edge. Excellent!

Oh yes...this is really nice. The depth, the colors, I have so much to learn about texture overlays.

IMO, the strata about 1/3 up the right edge is the only thing that detracts from this picture. Excellent render, and nice idea. It'll go in my screen saver gallery, BTW, which is more than I can say for 3/4 of the TG gallery.

Nice pov, moody atmo and surface/overlay!
sandpiper6
Great overlays, except deep in the valley and on top of the second plateau, where they are somehow smeared.

Very nice surface work! :-)

Exc overlay on the front side! IMHO may be you should try to apply the broken mud surface not on horizontal slopes: that's why the shadow on such overlay didn't look so good in the on horizontal slopes near the green grass.
