Description

- Scotland, Glen Affric, River Affric - Crossing a bridge over the roaring River Affric I was surprised and stunning how wild and powerful the water was. And I have never seen such black water! To look at it from this distance gave a little scary feeling. Do you see how dark it is? I tried to get a catch with more senery around but it wasn't working because one couldn't see the impressive black water. To the yesterday posting: There was no biker on the right. It was a gate leading into the protected area I had to go through. Thanks a lot for all comments and critic! Wish you a great start into the new week! ;o)

I think water gets this colour when it drains through peat land. Wouldn't want to fall in Rita, I can't swim. Excellent shot!

Wow! Very turbulent and dark waters. Like something from beneath the earth is waking up and very grumpy. Fantastic capture!

Fantastic shot of the rapids! Yes the water is very mysterious and dark! It must be in a lot of shade or there were clouds that day. Usually the blue in the sky reflects on the water. But this is a strange torent even so! Excellent photo Rita! :)

What a brilliant shot of dramatic 'peaty' Scottish water - I can feel the coldness and hear the roar of it from here!

My that is fearsome looking. The way it appears so close to the trees reminds one of flood waters. Wonderful shot.

I agree that is pretty frighting looking. That is one place you need to give respect to. I have never seen water that dark before. Even though you could not get surrounding land that is alright. We get the full effect as it is. Well done.
