Description

This is painted in Paintshop 7 ..all done by smudging (GREEN ) paint around with a mouse.. I thought it would be a good thing if The grinch had a girl...so here she is , my daughter said she needed green eyes but I told her- that- THIS was the grinches "girlfriend" and had brown eyes... LOL yes another cartoon painting ...i had fun doing this just now! My favorite Dr. Seuss story has always been the "Grinch" I have always thought it is like its Ted's way of bringing Charles Dicken's "The Christmas Carol" to life in a new light for kids...I have always admired Dr Seuss... I liked the freedom of expression and creativity he had. He had his own unique style that made a phenominal impact on children and through his interesting illustrations , children learn to read. I learned to read through Dr Suess .. I couldn't get enough of his books and still never can.. Did you know that Dr suess was never a Doctor?... When he was young and in school his teacher told himthat his artwork was terrible and gave him a bad grade on his drawings... Later in life to spite her he put "DR" on his book titles .... LOL He made himself a doctor...!! Heres a little more about him posted 13 hours ago in todays paper- The Los Angeles times by writer Gloria D. Miklowitz: Theodor Seuss Geisel, called "Ted" by his friends, was born in Springfield, Mass., on March 2, 1904. His grandparents were from Germany. They built a brewery that produced some of the best beer in America. His father, Theodor, and mother, Henrietta (called Nettie), settled near Nettie's parents with their new son and 2-year-old daughter. Springfield was a wonderful place to grow up. Ted's home was spacious, and the city had a park, a zoo and an easy way of life. His father rarely raised his voice, but if somebody did something that made him angry, he might never speak to that person again. As Ted grew older, his dad tried to interest him in sports, especially hunting, but Ted preferred going to the zoo and drawing pictures of the animals. One thing Ted valued that he learned from his father was, "Whatever you do, do it to perfection." To please his father, who wanted him to be a college professor, Ted went on to Oxford University in England after graduation. However, his academic studies bored him, and he decided to tour Europe instead. Oxford did provide him the opportunity to meet a classmate, Helen Palmer, who not only became his first wife, but also a children's author and book editor. THe impact he has had on children and adults is astounding!!

"He hadn't stopped Christmas from coming, it came. Somehow or other, it came just the same."...Lol, one of my all time favorite lines and favorite authors. This is so simply marvelous, I don't know where to begin. Not only have you captured the "grinchy" character in this wonderful girl's face, but somehow captured the magic as well. This is amazingly brilliant work...I'm in awe, and I thank you for sharing it here. It made me smile, and that in itself is a priceless gift, is it not? VOTE
