Thankyou all for such kind comments about my image. This is the first time I have posted an image on Renderosity. I really do appreciate the time you all took to view and post comments. Anyone know why photoshop creates banding in the sky after adjusting levels, sharpening and resizing??? How do I stop that?

Super looking render!...and Welcome! The banding can come from several different things, 1st: adding contrast is the most common, 2nd: Jpeg artifacting. I suspect these may be from adjusting levels/contrast. A couple of things to try....try doing the levels/contrast in stages, a little at a time...or selective gaussian blurring of the contrast band areas.

Thx for the tips Gradient. The banding appeared even in the .bmp file so not jpg artifacts. I did think about blurring but will have to make sure I select only the sky and not the clouds. I will try the little at a time levels and contrast, thx for the info :-)
