Description

Thanks for all your great comments on yesterday's image, Don't Be Koi. Look for some more photos like that in the future. Per Egmont's suggestions, I went back and revisited this image. I even re-photographed it for a more head on view. I took out all the color, well... primarily YELLOW, and kept only the "blood" oozing from the "wound." I'm not sure if it has more or less impact this way, I'd love to hear your opinions. this one seems to be more haunting (as reduced to the essentials) ...

Agreed, this is more stark and more graphically isolates the past violence of what appears to be a small calibre bullet hole in the wall. A bit grisly but very well done!

As dramatic as the yellow one was, I think this image has more impact. Perhaps it's due to the greater contrast between the 'blood' and the background. It certainly works well, great.

No doubt a very unique opportunity to shoot and you have captured it very nicely. As "tibet2004uk" said, this could be a great element to use in some other dark related photo manipulation. Nice! FYI. Got a new piece up I think you might like. KP

Well Kort, it certainly has more impact. I particularly like the conversion of the yellow, as it can go light or dark depending pon the filtration settings within Channel Mixer. Excellent seperation of the red from the rest of the image. As you see by the remarks it does give the image a gritty feel. Not to prove myself correct, but that is what I would have been after, as it rattles ones senses. Thank you for trying out my suggestion. V

Great textures. Very original. Stabbed to death? Passion motives? Always the girls. :-). Very well done!

Sorry Kort, I find both versions highly unpleasant (reminding me of bad cop shows?). Still, much better than being boring.

The color yellow seems to draw attention away from the impact area. Gray doesn't attract much attention leaving the impact area the subject or main topic. Gray is more effective. Aloha

this one has more impact IMO. i like the yellow better, but then again, it's my fav. color. this one makes the "blood" stand out more and does seem to bring out the "wound" more. Actually looks kinda gross...looks like that's really skin!!! LOL! :) Hope you do more abstracts!
