Well this fellow Texan sure picked up on this image. :) And my husband refuses to believe when he heard that California was also a republic for a short time. Being a native Texan, which I am not, he was naturally proud that up until now, he believed that Texas was the only state to be a republic. :) Nice tribute. :)

AWESOME ..i always love to take time to stop and think of the tribute..i look at this and see men killed and heros and the symbolism of this flag... my family was attacked by poncho via around this time and lost thier DIamond mind so i am very respectful of the freedom this represents!!

Dear Richard, thank you from me and all the rest of the Texans out here - and applying the old give them an inch and they'll take a mile - what do you have planned for April 21st? Hmmm? And - when do we find out about the background in "Do You Want to Dance" and what I won - I'm sure I must have won! ;-) *** Very Pretty and a potent reminder to everyone of that difficult time - and all that came to pass in the following weeks - including 13 days of glory.
