Aaarrrghh..I left such a long comment and then i saw some typos and thought i should edit it....and I forgot to copy...damn...well about the photo..IT IS GORGEOUS!!! And im not gonna ask if you added that grain or not, LOL. Can i suggest one thing though...remove a little of the top. That top leaf is too big and by being that it steals focus from the one leaf that is not out of focus if i make any sense..bla bla bla...bet im not. That is of course only my opinion, and i still think the compo and perspective are brilliant. Have a wonderful weekend #:o)

I'm not a photographer, but I see what Zacko means regarding the upper leaf detracting from the one just below it which is in focus.

Nicely Done!

LOVELY picture: if you do crop. don't take too much off! perhaps the middle leaf should be 10% higher?

@kansas: Yes, and I did try what Zacko suggested and was unable to make my mind up cos I liked both versions! To crop it, does interrupt the line of leaves which is what I went for! So, here I am, liking them both and very confused now! o_O
Synapse
I see what Zacko's getting at, but personally I don't mind that slight "conflict" and to me it actually helps with the illusion of depth, if that makes any sense, because of the way the eye attempts to "look past" the dominant top leaf toward the one that's in focus!

think it's a great exercise in depth of field!! :]

Tinting is nice... I gilded a bromeliad once... it can help to deal with obvious blurred areas and intense light reflection spots. Your focus here seems good.... a nice diagonal composition line. Very interesting to see your gallery filling up with non-portrait / human faces for a while. Hugs... Ad.
