This lavalamp is next to my tv. Haven't got the light right yet. I think soft shadows will do the trick, but it takes so long to render ...
In a few months I get a new computer :) That will help

Aye, perhaps try using an image behind the camera to add some reflections to the lamp's glass and metal parts? Lookin good so far...
