Description

- Scotland, Glen Affric - On the other side I noticed a fallen tree and it looked very strange with its naked and pale branches between all the green around; like a skeleton streching out its bony arms. Thanks for all comments and have a healthy week!

A skelton tree, Rita, but I am sure that a wood carver would see something within its shape. He would carve it into a work of art. As it is only you have noticed its fallen state. You show a welcome measure of compassion. Regards, John.

Is it possible to return to this spot? Here is a suggestion. By converting to B&W using channel mixer in PS, the trees can go towards black and therefore the dead tree becomes more white and a wonderful contrast is achieved. The reason for taking the photograph again has to do with the sky. By moving to the right or the left and using the green trees as your backdrop the white sky is minimized and you have more dark background to work with in achieving the drame of a fine B&W. I would position myself to the left and face the camera to my right since the trees appear to be taller by this photo's POV. I also like the ferns in the forground. Just a thought. V

Lovely bare tree. Nicely framed by the other bushes.

Greedy fingers trying to catch a brave soul that approaches too close.... Great find, it's wonderful to enjoy nature through your eyes!

Yes, indeed a looks like a skeleton, rather a bizar one.. Fingers reaching out to the one whos spooted them. A B&W indeed possibly is interesting too.. I agree with Egmont on thast point.
