I've added some new feature into hexlattice plugin - it will be released soon. (currently such land is somewhat renderer-unfriendly, and i'm gonna to make smoothing...) It can "hexify" any landscape or any texture (that is, you can use it on existing landscape or color texture or something to make it loook like that). While testing, i "accidently" got nice colors, and decided to share :-)

Dmy excellent work on the plugin..I think your developing what I was trying within that FG file I passed you:) How did you achive the colours? Are they based upon Sun direction/UV ???

Cool. Now we should be able to replicate the Giant's Causeway! That's a formation of rocks on the north coast of Ireland that looks just like this.
