Description

Using the model that you can see in my picture 'Finally Falling (WIP)', I composed this image for the Taxiride's upcoming single 'Oh Yeah' (a fantastic song I cannot wait to hear playing on the radio). This is not the final version, but it is my favourite rendition so I am posting it for my own sake. When the final cover version is approved I will post that as to compare. The girl started off with blonde curly hair (to contrast against the purple and to keep with the undulating flow of the lines) but on after some discussion with the band it ended up black. I think it was a good choice, as it changed her characterisation considerably. Rendered in Bryce using terrain maps and painted over in a variety of programs. The original painting of the girl was dropped into Bryce as a matte, whereas the surfaces are all modelled. Any guesses as to who she looks like?

Words escape me as to where to begin with this image. Every aspect of it is completely unique. The hair is fabulously painted, nice subtle highlights to it. The wings look like you made them from a terrain, I very much like the texture on it, looks like charcoal. The arms didn't hit me at first. After staring and taking this whole image in for about 30 seconds I suddenly realized...she has no arms. But she has these groovy, funky tenacle things coming out---my GOD that is awesome. And those metal restraining bracers are so well done. I absolutely love the shape of her (ahem...breasts) Not to be vulgar but they have a wonderfully real appearance. That purple skin rot texture thingy you did is sooooo cool. The single most aspect in this image which makes it so good is the consistancy in colors and textures. The head ties in with the right thigh, the purple skin ties in with her boots and genitle coverup. Stunning work, must have taken a long time to create this. V

She looks a lot like Angelina to me and you can't go wrong there. Beautifully done. I'm glad you're continuing this because it does appear unfinished or as if something is missing. It may be the lack of emotion. I'm told to look up, but the expression is blank. Just my 3 cents. Keept at it. Looking forward to the final product.

Thank you everyone for your helpful comments. Would you believe I had to repaint the entire image at 300dpi, as it was rendered only at 76. How do I change the dpi settings in Bryce?

very inspiring! she looks sliiightly like angelina jolie, but that's only cos of her lush lips :) try put some reflections on the wings (they currently look abit too much like photoshop filter-overload), and the colors in the sky are abit random.. try more subtle tones. other thann that, i cant think of any other crits for this.. keep up the good work :)

this is a very cool concept... its a bit too psychedelic for me though - i swear ive had girlfriends look like this after a bad acid trip :) im looking forward to seeing the final painted version of this.. im more of a black&white or earth tones kindof guy but the vibrant colors fit here, its very original. cheers, -gabriel

I must admit that neither science fiction nor surrealism is always my cup of tea, but I agree that you have an awesome imagination, and I particularly like your hair painting. The contrast between the foreground and background fits this image, so I'd retain that. Wow, those tentacles really remind me of the movie "The Thing" lol. Again, you have a groovy concept going on, but I think you should try to find sci fi poser clothes to really enhance the presentation of this concept. Cheers and keep up the good work.
