Description

This is a saguaro cactus and the oldest and largest specimens can reach 30 feet (~9 meters) tall. Than can live well over a hundred years and weigh a tonne or more. This is an old one. The holes in the plant are made by birds; to avoid snakes and other predators they make their homes there. The mountain(s) in the background are called the Superstitions and there are many legends concerning them. By the way, it is pronounced Sah-War-Oh :-) Thank you all for taking your time to view my artistic scribblings. Your comments and suggestions are not only deeply appreciated but valued highly.
