Description
The Bible states that the giants existed before the flood and even after that time, Gen. 6:4. This contradicts tradition but is historically upheld by accounts in Exodus where descendents of the Nephilim are encountered in Canna by the Israelites. The Apocryphal Book of Enoch, a 1st century B.C. extra Biblical manuscript quoted by Jude and John, details events of the fallen angels. It describes their punishment and even their names. Some of the Nephilim perished, at least their bodies perished, beneath the waters of the flood. The leaders of this rebellious act were chained until judgment day at various locations in the earth. Jude and John also relate this account.
Job 26:5 KJV says, "Dead things are formed from under the waters". This seems to imply that men were killed under the waters of the deluge.
Also, Early church leaders including Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Athenagoras, Tertullian, Lactantius, Eusebius and Ambrose all agreed with these conclusions. The Ante-Nicenes wrote that these angels made: "...impure love of Virgins, and were subjugated by the flesh...Of those lovers of virgins therefore, were begotten those who are called giants. ...the angels transgressed, and were captivated by love of women And begat children." (W.F. Allbright From the Stone Age to Christianity)
Josephus, the secular Jewish historian who lived through the fall of Jerusalem in the first century AD, noted this tradition in his Antiquities of the Jews. Here he tells that traditionally it is believed that fallen angels and women produced children with super human strength. He also notes that these creatures were known for their evil acts. When we realize that the sons of God in Genesis are angels, then it becomes clear that they came to Earth, committed a great sin in mating with human women, and that they had an evil offspring who are described as giants. In the Hebrew language of the Bible, the word translated here as "giant" or "giants" is Nephiyl or Niphil, which the plural being Nephilim. The word nephiyl means literally a "feller", an old English word that connotes a "bully" or "tyrant" as well as a large being.
History is riddled with accounts of these giants, however, today's revisionists have done their best to keep this fact hidden from the populace. The Roman's wrote of 17-feet tall Celtic giants that they had battled; likewise, early explorers including Amerigo Vespucci, Sir Francis Drake, Coronado, De Soto, Narvaez and others all talk about giants that they had encountered on their journeys.
Pedro de Castaneda, who accompanied Coronado, wrote of the Cocopa Indian tribe that they were giants who could carry logs that six of the Spaniards could not budge. Archeological discoveries are numerous as well. In 1833 soldiers digging at Lompock Rancho, California, discovered a male skeleton 12 feet tall. The skeleton was surrounded by carved shells, stone axes and other artifacts. The skeleton had double rows of upper and lower teeth. In Clearwater Minnesota, the skeletons of seven giants were found in mounds. These had receding foreheads and complete double dentition.
During World War II, author Ivan T. Sanderson tells of how his crew was bulldozing through sedimentary rock when it stumbled upon what appeared to be a graveyard. In it were crania that measured from 22 to 24 inches from base to crown. Calculations show that they would undoubtedly been at least 12 feet tall or taller. But we must ignore these findings as it does not fit in the revisionists theory of evolution.
Another interesting note involves a famous character from history, St. Christopher. While modern stories of St. Christopher simply make him out to be an ordinary man, those who actually saw him had a different story. According to his peers, he was a Giant, belonging to a tribe of dog-headed, cannibalistic giants. Jacques de Voragine in The Golden Legend Wrote of St. Christopher:
"He was of gigantic stature, had a terrifying mien, was twelve coudees tall."
A coudee is equal to or larger than the English linear measurement of a foot.
