Description

The oak cork is one of the trees I prefer. On our Mediterranean littoral, there is much of them, and often, they are very old. Long time ago, the exploitation of the oak cork was very important. But now unfortunately one sees some less and less. The bark is collected for the first time when the tree has twenty-seven years, then, every approximately nine years. The first bark with the deep furrows is the male bark, the following ones are the females. After having taken off the bark of the trunk, one stores cork to allow his drying. But without having to cut the bark of the trees, it's also collect of it rather easily on the beaches, after a storm, the sea always pays some on the shores... coming from the islands which are in the vicinity, but sometimes also from much further. I think that these trees, especially the very old ones like this one, have extraordinary forms. In fact trees have a heart, and they also have an history... But who can still listen to the trees ? Une image impressionante ! Et merci aussi pour les explications claires... En rassemblant tout ce qu'on trouve sur les arbres dans la galerie R'osity, on pourrait iter un superbe libre, merveilleusement illustr! Je pense tr fort moi-aussi que les arbres ont un coeur,...comme nous... I'm absolutely convinced : trees do have a heart,...just like us ! :~)

Un arbre tout fait remarquable par son originalit Il a dvoir des choses cette hauteur:)En tout cas moi j'irais bien montrer tranquillement un peu dessus car il est invitant.Certain qu'il a un coeur car il vit. Superbe photo Nathalie
