Description

Trees have been some of my best friends and heros who have graced my world. Last week while walking the path an old friend was down. Life can change very quickly in the blink of natures eye. The light cast that day was subdued but carried a certain brightness to it. It reminded me of a poem I would like to share with you. The Gift is a book of poems by Hafiz who was Persias most beloved Sufi Master. 1320-1389. The Sun Never Says, Even, After, All this time, The sun never says to the earth, You owe Me, Look, What happens, With a love like that, It lights the Whole Sky. Thankyou for all your kind comments and helpful ways. Always appreciated, Judith

What a moody photo this is Judith. Im not sure what makes me feel that way, but I just love this one!!! It is so subtle and ordinary, yet powerful and beautiful. Your love for nature can not be mistaken. I admire your dedication to it! I would also like to take this opportunity and thank you so very much for all the sweet comments you leave at this fine site. I for one could not appriciate them more, and I am sure that everyone else feels the same way. Hope you get to have a lovely weekend!!!!! Andreas #:o)

The light is singular and warm, and the trees long past will rise again and continue. Beautiful composition and verse.

I am sorry that I missed this one earlier, but you know why. ;) There is a small book, more like a short story, just cannot recall the author's name. The title 'The Man Who Planted Trees', is one that is very inspiring. In fact so much, I have been collecting California Chestnut seed pods that have signs of growth and planted about 23 and more to come on our hillside. Even plan on placing a couple dozen or so on a nature preserve behind our house since it is an empty hill. Trees not only allow us to breath fresh air and give us shade or warmth there is a direct connection between humans and trees. So it pained me greatly when I had to remove a twenty year old paper white birch tree last year. I have kept some of the wood to carve a walking stick or two. Birch trees are sacred in Northern Germany, part of the Rune culture. Thank you Judith for photographing a fallen friend so we may not forget. :))
