Description

Centapedalousaurs: Distinguished by their unique design, Centies were part of a popular variety of spiral-shelled mollusks that evolved in the Early Devonian period. Centies were a diversified group, they were abundant and widespread, unfortunately, their time on this earth was short compared to the majority of sea dwelling Ammonites. Their soft bodies occupied the last chamber of the spiral shell, like accordions, they would fold themselves up and resemble a clam when fully closed. Their abrubt extinction may have been due to the poor design of the shell, there really was no safety to speak of. Taking their place on the food chain was the well adapted Nautilus, a grand spiral with plenty of protection. XD for the silly things, background in Bryce. Have a fantastic week! Your comments and constructive crits are very much appreciated!

that must have been a grand musical feast for their preditors, they could go on the sound of the centies, and considering their size, there must have been millions once. ha ,the world was a musical-stage and the centies was the philharmonic orchestra. sad to see those beautiful creatures gone forever.

Love the "etched" look around your lovely little critters..they are so amazing! Almost like a cornacopia of wonderous texture and design. What a shame that something so beautiful fell victim to the food chain. What fantastical specimens you've been sharing with us! Truly an amazing little series and soo well created. VOTE
