Description
As charming -- imo -- as the Nomad by Chevrolet, the Safari by Pontiac.
Polymodeled in Max 5 and rendered with Vray.
Thanks for watching.

Excellent work one thing about your work it is all creation and not 90%post work like you see a lot in this Renderosity gallery.

Thanks for the replies. Yes it has the same roof/pillar setup as the Nomad, only mated to a Pontiac body. I had been wanting to do a Nomad for quite a long time, and also a Pontiac 55 or 56 in any bodystyle, so when i found good reference material at EBay i decided to merge things into this here model. It is difficult to precise the duration of this project. I started it on November 2004 but left it aside as new projects came along. Finally last week i decided to finish its interior and detailing, which went straighforward. Yes post work. Eventually i may resort to Photoshop to make a little aftereffecting like lighting up dark areas or adding a soft blur, but 99% is the original render. I like that you are working with the era when windows were not flush and had drip gutters and inset. The color scheme of salmon and charcoal is intriguing. I don't think the roof gouges went side to side though. It had been proved that vertical exterior braces on truck trailers was more efficient but very draggy. I looked at some pictures and I could not really see this, the top looks to be smooth with no gouges. You da' man!

Thanks again. Raven Black/Bolero Red were the names of the original chart colors. I dont know if this color scheme was available for the Safari but it is dashing so be it. As for the roof ridges, yes they were characteristic of this design, both on the Safari and the Nomad. I did them strictly according to the references, number of ridges, size etc.

A stunning model- thanks for giving the world of 2005 a glimpse of more than corvettes and T-birds from the fifties. Brilliant work.

I always thought the Pontiac wagon was much richer looking then the Chevy equivalent... You are giving me a desire to model my 1960 Corvette sitting in my garage....Owned since 1983... V
